At DiggyPOD, we only offer laminated book covers. Lamination is a thin layer of plastic (about 1.5 mils) that gives your book a high gloss look and protects the book from everyday use. Lamination allows you to wipe off any fingerprints and gives your book a very clean look, without any spine cracking or rough trim edges. So make sure to have your covers laminated - you will be very happy that you did.
The reason we only offer lamination is because UV Coating is not up to our quality standards. UV Coating is a high gloss coating (not plastic), that will give your book a gloss look. The problem with UV coating is that your fingerprints can show up in the coating after handling the book, and you may end up with cracked spines or rough edges where the book has been trimmed.
